William Alan Brown OBE

The work Spiral carries out with young people and families suffering the effects of bullying, made me want to use my skills and experience to help break this cycle of behaviour. Alan spent 40 years working in the Criminal Justice System, including senior leadership roles as Deputy Governor and Governor. In retirement, he has volunteered with the Teachers Regulation Agency, Cumbria Council, and Westmorland and Furness Council, chairing disciplinary and school appeal panels. He has also served as a school governor in Carlisle. Alan was awarded an OBE in 2008 for services to the Prison Service and prisoners. He enjoys the gym, walking, holidays, and supporting charitable work.
