Preventing the Effects of Bullying

how we can help
Spiral works with young people aged 8 to 25, as well as their guardians, to address and prevent the harmful effects of bullying. Providing support at an early stage is not always possible, that is why we have various projects running so young people can access support at different times.
Bullying can strip away a young person’s confidence and sense of self. By working together in a supportive environment, young people learn to refocus on their own values and strengths. They gain practical strategies to cope with overwhelming emotions and challenging situations. Through this work, Spiral aims to create safer, more inclusive spaces where young people can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Spiral's approach combines psychoeducation with a values-based model inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—not as a form of therapy, but as a practical framework to support emotional wellbeing. We help young people understand how their brains—and those of their peers—are developing, and guide them in recognising and managing difficult emotions in healthy, constructive ways.
